Good Saturday morning everyone! Looked out this morning and could not see the river bank but water was still that cocoa brown color. Had to look at navigation page on our tv which shows our position, and indeed, we were on the ocean. Forgot that the water is brown for 200 miles out in ocean from Amazon's mouth. That's how much water flows into the ocean. Amazing river!!! Last 6 days that we spent on the Amazon river was a fascinating experience and loved every second.
Today I am going down to the theater for two lectures. The 10am lecture is by Bill Rothschild who has worked for over 40 years in the US Air Force's rocketry program and NASA's space program as a propulsion engineer. Today he is talking about the future of: commercial space flight, NASA's future plans, new space planes, and other advanced space systems. At 11am Terry Breen, our SA expert, has a lecture entitled "Devil's Island: Hell on Earth". It will give us an insight into our visit tomorrow to the Isle Royal where the French penal colony was and about the human hardships and suffering the prisoners endured. In the afternoon at 2:30 we will go to a wine tasting featuring Napa Valley wines. I think Rebecca is just working out this morning.
Disappointed again last night in Prime 7. Told them not to put butter on my veal chop so they put olive oil on it instead. I sent it back but Rebecca was done with her dinner before I got my chop back. Just got up and left without eating an entree. Erkan, the Prime 7 manager, was upset because I was leaving without eating. I told him not to worry because I had an appetizer and French onion soup so was ok. Besides I am too fat already! Best food is still in Compass Rose restaurant. We are dining with some friends from Sydney tonight and have ordered another "Italian" dinner (garlic bread, shrimp & calamari, and veal parmesan). I have organized another cocktail party from 6:30 to 7:30 this evening for the folks that were on our Macha Picchu trip.
