Quito Day One--Photos #1

                                                 Our airplane, an Embraer 190, built in Brazil.

      The Embraer 190 has a very strange looking control wheel.  I have never seen one like it.

                                            15000 foot volcano with top obscured by clouds



Copilot is displaying weather but the red is not weather but mountains.  This is why flying in South America is not easy.

                     Captain's display of terrain--red is the 15000 foot high volcano just west of city
                                Quito's airport runway--9000+ feet long at an altitude of 9200 feet.
