Tuesday, Jan 17th--Sea Day

We left Guayaquil yesterday evening and are at sea today sailing along the coast of Peru to the port at Salaverry which is the port for Trujillo, Peru.  The sea is as calm as a lake and the temperature outside is a lovely 71F with low humidity and no wind.  I should have spent the day outside but instead have spent 6 hours making posts for our trip to Quito on Sunday & Monday plus all the photos.  YOU WILL HAVE TO GO TO THE "BLOG ARCHIVE" ON THE LEFT SIDE AND CLICK ON EACH ONE TO READ THEM AND SEE THE PHOTOS.  This is because I put so much on it today.  Once again, if click on the photos they become larger.
We did not enjoy our dinner in Signatures, a French restaurant, last night.  Will not be returning there for rest of the cruise as canceling our reservations.  Food in the main dining room, Compass Rose, is excellent so will go there.  We went to the show last night featuring the vocalist, Dale Kristien.  She was an original star of Broadway's , The Phantom of the Opera.  What a voice!
This morning before starting on the blog we went to two lectures by Terry Breen.  First one was titled, "Land of the Inca".  Peru is the richest country in South America when it comes to history and culture.  It dates back to 2647 BC.  I have no idea how Terry knows and remembers all of this but she is fascinating.  Her second hour was a personal story about one of her trips to Macha Picchu and Cusco.
We did not see them but I was talking to one of the first officers at the seafood buffet on pool deck at noon today and he said they had spotted 2 whales and a bunch of dolphins.  We have some birds following us as only about 20 miles offshore.  Safely offshore I might add!!
This evening we have an early show (6pm) as they are doing a "Beatles Pub Night" after dinner.  The show is "Los Diablos Gauchos".  Let you know what that is about tomorrow.  Glad I am caught up again on blog.  Have a tour tomorrow so will try to do posting in afternoon.
